Kathryn brings over 15 years of healthcare experience, specializing in high-acuity clinical areas, and has maintained multiple advanced certifications throughout her career.  She is nationally certified in healthcare quality and patient safety, which gives her specialized expertise in determining whether clinical care met the accepted standard. She analyzes cases for system failures, deviations in protocols, and gaps in documentation that directly impact liability.

Clinically trained and experienced in pediatrics, she brings a strong foundation in medical analysis and patient advocacy to her legal nurse consulting practice. Her professional expertise expanded significantly when her father was diagnosed with dementia, and she served as his healthcare surrogate, care coordinator, and advocate for three years.

In that role, she developed comprehensive knowledge of adult medicine, complex comorbidities, long-term care systems, and medical decision-making processes. She critically evaluated diagnoses, treatment plans, standards of care, and quality-of-life considerations while coordinating multidisciplinary care teams.

Kathryn's clinical background extends into healthcare technology and data integrity. She has worked directly with informatics teams to identify clinical improvement opportunities and documentation limitations and currently works with a tech-enabled healthcare company applying AI to clinical workflows. This gives her a working knowledge most LNCs don't have: how AI tools actually behave with clinical data, where they add value, and where they get it wrong. She is currently pursuing certification in legal AI applications to formalize that expertise for litigation support.

This dual perspective—clinical pediatric expertise combined with firsthand experience navigating adult and geriatric healthcare—allows her to analyze cases with both technical accuracy and practical understanding. She approaches each matter with meticulous attention to detail, an in-depth understanding of medical systems, and a steadfast commitment to clarity and objectivity.

Backed by extensive neonatal and pediatric expertise, including high-acuity care and risk management, we merge clinical knowledge with investigative precision to uncover pivotal facts often hidden in plain sight.

More attorneys are using AI to build chronologies and summarize records — and that's a good thing. AI can save time. What it can't do is know when it's wrong.

I support the use of AI in case preparation, and I bring something most consultants can't: hands-on clinical experience identifying where AI gets healthcare data wrong. I validate AI-generated findings against the actual record, flag hallucinations and misread clinical details before they become part of your case, and catch the blind spots in care and documentation that automated summaries tend to miss.

This isn't theoretical. My background includes:

  • Working directly with informatics teams to identify documentation limitations and clinical improvement opportunities
  • Current work with a tech-enabled healthcare company applying AI across clinical workflows
  • Using AI tools daily to surface blind spots in care and documentation
  • Pursuing certification in legal AI applications

If your team is using AI for chronologies, I'm the clinical check that keeps it defensible.

Let Impact translate complex medical processes into clear, defensible explanations that strengthen your arguments, help you anticipate opposing claims, and support you in building a stronger, evidence-based case.

What if the missing link in your case isn't clinical at all?  Your strongest argument can mean more than clinical credentials.
